My name is Wang Qin (pseudonym), female, born in September 1949 in Qijiang County, Sichuan Province. And I have been living in Suiyang County, Zunyi City, Guizhou Province since 1971, with a junior high school education.
In 2008, I returned to my hometown in Sichuan and met a man called “Xiao Lin” on the train. He said he was from Hunan and was going to Sichuan for a visit. In the course of our conversations, I found Xiao Lin to be enthusiastic, polite, and well-educated, which greatly increased my good impression of him.
After getting to know each other, he asked me if I believed in God. I told him that a lot of people around me believed in Buddhism, some in Christianity, and I also wanted to believe in God, but I just didn't know which one to choose. Then he told me that the "Age of Grace" ruled by Jesus had passed, and the "Kingdom Age" ruled by Almighty God had come. God had incarnated for the second time in the form of an Eastern woman in China to judge mankind. Seeing that I was not particularly interested, he continued, "The end of the world is coming, the earth will be destroyed, and only by believing in Almighty God can one survive the apocalypse and gain eternal life, otherwise it would also bring disasters to one's descendants”. Hearing his words, I panicked, thinking that my child's birthday was coming soon, and what would I do if something terrible happened. I broke out in a cold sweat and hurriedly expressed my desire to join Almighty God. He said, “I can see that you are so destined with God. In fact, I am sent by God to encounter you here”. I then hurriedly asked him how I could join in, and he told me not to worry, all I needed to do was to write down my home address and name on a piece of paper. He said that “Almighty God uses the oldest and most mysterious paper transmission system”, and after giving him the paper, someone would take my information to the "organization" in Suiyang. Once I returned to Suiyang, a messenger of God would come to contact me.
Not long after I returned to Suiyang from my hometown in Sichuan, someone really found me as Xiao Lin promised. He was a native from Suiyang, who explained a lot to me about the “female Christ” and cited some so-called “testimonies” of those who had claimed to “improve” their health. After hearing that, I was completely moved, thinking that if it was so good, then I should believe in it as well. Thus, under his guidance, I joined the Church of Almighty God (CAG) and spent over a thousand yuan on many books and CDs of it to study seriously at home.
After a period of study, I found that my health had not improved as he had promised, so I went to him with doubts. He answered that it was because God was testing me, and only through numerous hardships could one truly receive God's salvation, and he listed many related cases. Thus, I studied the doctrines and read the books of God even harder, hoping to gain God's approval. And I also participated in CAG gatherings among believers. At the beginning, I noticed that all gatherings were chosen at some rather remote locations, where everyone acted like strangers, walking their separate ways without greeting each other, making it so weird. So I asked him why, and he answered that it was because God didn’t like Her existence to be known by those who were not destined to meet Her or did not have faith in Her, “not even close friends and family members,” he added, “Violating God's will would lead to punishment.”
In the following years, many things happened one after another that made me suspicious, but each time they were glossed over by him under the guise of “God's will”. However, he repeatedly asked for more “contributions” from me on the pretext that “the more you contribute, the closer you are to God”. Fearing punishment and retaliation, I dared not break away from the CAG even though I had my doubts.
It was not until the end of 2012, when the “end of the world” rumors fabricated by the CAG fell apart on their own, that I fully realized I had been deceived and I deeply regretted it. After the village cadres learned about my situation, they provided me with various forms of assistance, offered me psychological counseling, and arranged for me to learn about relevant laws and regulations, making me fully realize that the CAG is a wolf in sheep's clothing. Illness does require injections and medication; this is not something that can be resolved by believing in God. I feel ashamed and regretful for my previous ignorance and have determined to cut off all ties with the CAG cult, return to a normal track of life, and start a new, bright future.
